Burning Man '97

Burning Man 1997 is Over.

The 1997 Desert Burn

This year's event will be filled with many new and positive changes for Burning Man. If you don't yet know what this is all about read What is Burning Man, and then find out why we are Back to the Beach though still in the Nevada desert. Interview with Larry Harvey also contains enlightening information. All three articles are from the paper-based Building Burning Man Newsletter, Spring 1997. Get on the mailing list for this important oracle by calling the Hotline (415-985-7471).

Other important articles from the Summer 1997 Building Burning Man are The Living Land and The Year of Community -- You are a Founder. (For those with questions about environmental issues Larry Harvey responds in the Survival section with Burning Man and the Environment.)

The change in venue has brought about new questions regarding the site, safety, and rave policy. Read the Event FAQ, and see if many of your outstanding questions can be answered. Should you still require clarification on an issue, please email us at: questions@burningman.com.

When you're ready, print out the Desert Reservation Form, and send it in with your check. We encourage early reservation, as our increase in popularity may require us to limit the number of participants. Remember, tickets will be mailed out in early August along with a Survival packet, which outlines important survival information in addition to performance, art and theme camp highlights.
