Best Gifts for Your Psychedelics Obsessed Friends
Here are a few things we have on our holiday gift wish list.
Now let’s be honest, when we are tripping, our favorite things to do include looking at tiny rocks in our garden, and building little villages out of twigs and populating them with lady bugs. But if you have some cash burning a hole in your pocket, here are some ideas on how to spend it.
The Cozo Vortex Light ($800) is an amazing addition to anyone’s trip space (This design is now sold out, but other designs are available. $200 to $800). These guys became more widely known as a result of their amazing Burning Man art pieces, but they have a variety of art pieces you can bring home:
You can buy some amazing and affordable psychedelic art. There are many fantastic artists out there, but we love Randal Roberts and Morgan Mandala’s collaboration work ($20 to $250).
The Star Laser. A lot of people sell this under different brand names, and they are all identical. It’s a very nice effect for around $40 (prices jump around quite a bit on this item). We like this so much that we investigated becoming a distributor just so we could get discounts for our friends….
Or buy an expensive but impressive Kaleidoscope from the people with the cool string art ($250 to $600). They are usually sold out, and drop in batches, so if you want one you need to subscribe to their newsletter or watch their Facebook page. The next product drop is December 16th, 2020.
Acquire a badass poster of Burning Man tickets we created originally for our friends. ($0 to download, so you can send it to a friend for free, but may we recommend printing it up. The large file is designed to print as a 2’ x 3’ poster. We printed it as a metal print, and it looks amazing. (Confirm with your professional photo printer whether you need to add a border prior to printing.) $0 for the file, around $100 for a 2’ x 3’ art print or $200 for a metal print. (We use ProDPI, which caters to professional photographers, but there are many vendors out there).

Or make a Spiro-Graph art, with a cool little kit. The Basic version is around $15 online or get the cool die cast version for around $30.
Or how about this cool sand table…. We recommend the $7,000 version, but the cheaper ones are ok too if you’re slumming it.
Bad ass glow in the dark String Art ($400 to $600). It looks better in person, but take a look at their website for many varieties. Also a fun do it yourself project for close to nothing.
The Forge of Neon App is fun (and free). Easily make cool graphics on your phone, even when you are very messed up:
Or buy a book… there are some great ones out there. Preview How to Change Your Mind with our annotated summary. The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide is a modern classic. Or try a classic book with a acid-inspired theme, like the Electric Cool aid Acid Test. Not about acid, but an amazing cult classic from the 60s is Ringolevio: A Life Played for Keeps, a wonderful stocking stuffer for anyone wanting to embrace the Summer of Love.
And don’t forget the kids. Get them a Bicycle Day hoodie, and make sure they wear it to school. It will be a conversation piece and keep them warm in those drafty classrooms.
Framed Blotter art is a cool gift. There are plenty of sellers of non-laced Blotter Art suitable for framing. Why isn’t there a coffee table book out yet? [It’s coming…. but not on time for the holiday season].
